Le film est terminé ! Pendant trois mois il est passé entre les mains de Rachel (réalisatrice), Simon (monteur), Arthur (animateur 3D), Virgile (monteur son), Benoît (mixeur), Camille (compositeur), Emma (graphiste), Antoine (étalonneur). En parallèle, Bertrand, Romain, Andréa, Manon et Mathilde ont travaillé sur la campagne d’impact et la distribution. Nous avons réussi le pari initial : faire un film de cinéma pour porter la voix des jeunes oubliés !
Et qui dit film terminé, dit.... révélation du titre : I AM THE FUTURE. Un futur qu’on espère long pour ce documentaire désormais distribué en France et à l’international par la société de distribution Wayna Pitch.
Laxmi et Dian étaient en France pour la promotion du film et l'anniversaire de notre partenaire LP4Y. On vous partage leurs découvertes !
Enfin, Mathilde vous amène faire la connaissance de Reshmi, “une indienne aux cheveux courts”.

Did you miss us? We missed you too! But don't worry, we're coming back today with BIG news…
The film is finished! Over the course of three months, the film passed through the hands of Rachel (director), Simon (editor), Arthur (3D animator), Virgile (sound editor), Benoît (mixer), Camille (composer), Emma (graphic designer), and Antoine (colorist). In parallel, Bertrand, Romain, Andréa, Manon, and Mathilde worked on the impact campaign and the distribution. We achieved our initial goal: creating a feature film that gives a voice to the forgotten youth!
And with the film completed, it's time to reveal the title: I AM THE FUTURE. A future we hope will be long and successful for this documentary, now distributed in France and internationally by the distribution company Wayna Pitch.
Laxmi and Dian were in France for the promotion of the film and the anniversary of our partner, LP4Y. We’re excited to share their experiences with you!
Finally, Mathilde introduces you to Reshmi, “an Indian woman with short hair.”

Nous sommes très heureux de vous annoncer le titre du film créé par notre studio Youth Visions … I am the future !
Ce titre incarne notre conviction : les jeunes sont le futur. Or, parmi ces jeunes, beaucoup sont en situation de précarité, comme nos quatre protagonistes. (Environ 1 personne sur 8 vit dans un bidonville selon l’ONU).
Mais loin d’être misérables et d’avoir une “pauvre vie”, Dian, Mamadou, Laxmi, Soumayraa sont plein d’énergie, ambitieux, talentueux, et veulent construire un avenir meilleur pour eux et leur communauté. Ils ont des rêves, des projets, qui donnent un sens à leur vie. Que ce soit à travers l’écriture, le dessin, la photographie ou la danse, ils tracent leur propre chemin. Ils ont l’audace d’espérer. En France, au Liban, en Inde ou à New York, We are the future, et ce futur, c’est ensemble que nous le construirons.

We are thrilled to announce the title of the film created by our Youth Visions studio... I am the future!
This title embodies our belief that young people are the future. Among these youth, many live in precarious conditions, like our four characters. (According to the UN, approximately 1 in 8 people lives in a slum).
However, far from being miserable or leading a “poor life,” Dian, Mamadou, Laxmi, Soumayraa are full of energy, ambition, talent, and determination to build a better future for themselves and their communities. They have dreams and projects that give meaning to their lives. Whether through writing, drawing, photography, or dancing, they are charting their own paths. They dare to hope. In France, Lebanon, India, or New York, we are the future, and together we will build that future.

It's official! We have a distributor!
“Good morning to you three! I have some excellent news to share. I received an email at 00:31 from Jonathan Musset at Wayna Pitch. He loves the film and is very eager to distribute it and take on worldwide rights. Given Jonathan's high standards and his influence with the press, this is fantastic news for I am the future.” (Message sent by Bertrand Guerry, our producer, on September 12 at 8:57 AM.)
Fifteen days later, the contract was signed. We are excited to announce that we are now being distributed by Wayna Pitch in France and internationally.

Laxmi & Dian in Paris
Bien plus à l’aise qu’Emily, Dian et Laxmi débarquent à Paris, pour promouvoir le film. Entre business trip et voyage touristique, pas de répit.
Un coup de cœur : Chambord et les rues “silencieuses” de Paris
Une découverte culinaire : le fromage et les praires (les Français mangent-ils vraiment des poissons encore vivants ?)
Un mauvais souvenir : les voyages en voiture dans les montagnes provençales
Une activité insolite : le tag de I am the future sur une fresque murale à Montparnasse
Au programme 4 évènements : deux projections privées, une masterclass à la Gaîté Lyrique organisée par Arte Education, une rencontre avec l’entreprise Mane, partenaire du film, à Grasse.
A cause de la guerre, Soumayraa n’a pas eu son visa pour nous rejoindre. Nous pensons évidemment très fort à elle et à nos ami.e.s libanais.es.

More at ease than Emily, Dian and Laxmi arrived in Paris to promote the film. Between business meetings and sightseeing, there was no time to rest.
Highlights:
A favorite: Chambord and the “silent” streets of Paris
A culinary discovery: cheese and clams (Do the French really eat fish that are still alive?)
A bad memory: car trips through the mountains of Provence
An unusual activity: tagging I am the future on a mural in Montparnasse
The schedule included four events: two private screenings, a masterclass at La Gaîté Lyrique organized by Arte Education, and a meeting with Mane, a partner of the film, in Grasse.
Due to the war, Soumayraa couldn’t obtain her visa to join us. Our thoughts are with her and our Lebanese friends.

Dans cet article, Mathilde vous amène à la rencontre de Reshmi, une des rares femmes indiennes aux cheveux courts. À seulement 18 ans, elle est partie de chez elle pour échapper à la pression du mariage arrangé. Seule à Raipur, elle s'est battue pour s'en sortir. Son rêve ? Enseigner les mathématiques et partager son histoire.
“On a besoin d’amour et d’espoir pour partir. Elle a aimé l’inconnu, le rêve, la vie pour laquelle elle allait se battre. Elle a aimé toutes les autres femmes qui, comme elle, subissent une injustice liée à leur genre, celles qui luttent et celles qui acceptent. Elle ne part pas seulement pour elle, mais pour toutes les autres filles de son village. Devenir la preuve vivante qu’une vie meilleure est possible.”

In this article, Mathilde introduces you to Reshmi, one of the few Indian women with short hair. At just 18, she left home to escape the pressure of an arranged marriage. Alone in Raipur, she fought to make her way. Her dream? To teach mathematics and share her story.
“We need love and hope to leave. She loved the unknown, the dream, the life she would fight for. She loved all the other women who, like her, suffer from gender-based injustice, those who fight and those who accept. She is not leaving just for herself, but for all the other girls in her village. To become living proof that a better life is possible.”
